About Vims
The Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) was established by the state government of Andhra Pradesh, inspired by the renowned AIIMS in New Delhi and NIMS in Hyderabad. Its primary objective is to deliver high-quality healthcare services to the general public at affordable prices.
With a strong commitment to ensuring healthcare access for all, VIMS offers free services to economically disadvantaged individuals under the Dr. YSR Aarogyasri program, which covers a range of diseases. Moreover, the hospital extends its services to various other healthcare schemes, including CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme), EHS (Employees Health Scheme), WJHS (Working Journalists Health Scheme), and Arogya Raksha.
The architectural plan of VIMS includes both frontal and profile views, showcasing the ongoing development of the facility. The white-topped buildings represent the completed structures, while the brown-topped buildings indicate the forthcoming construction projects, signifying the hospital’s continuous expansion and growth in its mission to serve the community.
